Peter Dawson and Tim James are legends of Australian wine, friends for almost as long as I’ve been alive, and have recently conspired on this new project from a single Derwent Valley vineyard more than twenty years of age. This wine delivers every bit as high as the expectation of the reputations of the two clever minds behind it. It leads with attractive and delicate purity of pear, granny smith apple, lemon blossom, white peach, grapefruit zest and a hint of malt, with a core of fruit concentration and impressive presence, flowing seamlessly into a finely honed and persistent tail of vibrant southern Tasmanian acidity and fine chalky, mineral texture.
