Houghton Jack Mann Cabernet Sauvignon

Frankland River’s historic Justin vineyard is an outpost of cabernet glory otherwise reserved for the most revered pockets of Margaret River. The fruit that this place has conjured makes 2008 one of the great vintages of Jack Mann, with every detail immaculately placed. A core of brilliant focus of redcurrants and red cherries possesses such an eloquent and restrained appeal that it is captivating right away, yet promises a very long future. Tannins are fine-grained, grippy and beautifully woven, drawing out long and linear into a finish of integrated oak and fantastic persistence. $85 at Aussie Wines, Wine List Australia, No Frills Wine, Wine House and Dan’s.
