Jansz Premium Rosé

We don’t drink nearly as much sparkling rosé in Australia than our friends in the US and UK. They’re on to something, and we’re missing out, perhaps because rosé champagne is typically (and unfairly) 30% more expensive than its white counterpart. Enter Jansz, where not only is the rosé line priced but both are on the shelves this week under $20 (Our Cellar). You won’t find a finer sparkling rosé anywhere without spending two or three times this figure. For your dollars, you’re getting a lot: three-quarters pinot noir from some of Jansz’s most expressive parcels on the banks of the Tamar, aged on lees for three years (one more than the white) to build more creaminess. The result is a pretty and elegant rosé of very pale salmon hue and strawberry and cream character, with lemon zest freshness and a soft, creamy mouth feel.
