McWilliam’s Hanwood Estate Cabernet Sauvignon

Now is the time to stock up on this all-purpose bargain cabernet, because this release is bolstered by a sizeable contribution of Coonawarra fruit and a dash of McLaren Vale – but no longer from the 2012 vintage onward. A medium-bodied style of accurate cabernet character of blackcurrant, tobacco, capsicum and violet of surprising persistence, with fine-grained tannins and dark chocolate oak promising medium-term potential. An impressive vintage for Hanwood, and great value at $7 at 1st Choice this week.
