David Morris says it’s hard to say just how old it is, but he puts it somewhere in the 35-40 year realm. Just 100 half bottles are released each year of this jet-black treacle. The nose is an amalgam of every character you could conjure, so seamless that I defy anyone to identify its components. The palate is immensely viscous, yet in no way bracing or harsh. As old as I am, I expected it to be more challenging, but I found myself entranced in the midst of its swirling vortex of intensity and complexity, transported gently to a place of alluring calm.
