Pegasus Bay Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
One of the greatest sauvignon blends of New Zealand, tactically deploying semillon fermented and aged in old French oak barrels for texture without oak flavour. The result is a blend of gorgeous character and intrigue, at once citrusy, fleshy, spicy and honed, with lantana, grapefruit, guava, apricot and all manner of exotic spice. It spans every extreme of sauvignon’s diverse personality, yet all the while unerringly honed and determined in its focus and poise. It’s linear and very long, with refined, finely ground, gravelly mouth feel and outstanding persistence. It will age, too. $30 at OurCellar.
