Coteaux Champenois Lunch at Winnifred’s 22 November 2025

It’s my great pleasure to invite you to my very first Coteaux Champenois lunch, to experience six of my favourite still wines of Champagne!

Coteaux Champenois is one of the most fascinating and rare categories of modern Champagne, and its finest exemplars represent a few thousand or even just a few hundred bottles. In many cases only a handful of these ever find their way to Australia. This is also one of the most expensive styles to make in Champagne, demanding yields typically just one-third those of champagne.

Coteaux Champenois offers a unique insight into both the deep history and the distant future of Champagne. Until 1850, Champagne produced more still wine than sparkling. The modern advent of warmer seasons has sparked a new interest in experimentation with Coteaux Champenois amongst the top growers and houses of the region, and never have I been more impressed with the results!

I am very much looking forward to sharing three of my favourite Coteaux Champenois blanc and three of my favourite Coteaux Champenois rouge, plus a sparkling blanc de noirs to set the context on arrival!

Due to the scarcity and exclusivity of these cuvées, this event is strictly limited to 14 guests.
