Wolf Blass Grey Label Langhorne Creek Cabernet Shiraz

A refreshing twist. Wolf Blass is working hard to build detail in Grey Label, accenting crunchy fruit ahead of heavy oak, structure and alcohol. There’s still power here, but it manages pretty good control in the wake of 15% alcohol. Well-focused and inky plums, blueberries and black cherries meet mint and fresh, tangy acidity. Cabernet tannins provide firm, fine definition to the finish, with oak well integrated. I’d like to see the alcohol a bit lower, but this is a work in progress and certainly a certainly a step in the right direction for Grey Label. $30 at Wine List Australia, No Frills Wine and Aussie Wines.
