Brown Brothers Patricia Pinot Noir Chardonnay Brut

Patricia defines the benchmark of single vineyard Australian sparkling wines. Even in champagne itself, very few sites can confidently stand alone. This wine is a testimony to the fabled Whitlands vineyard, high in the King Valley. Generosity and complexity are built through a four-fifths majority of pinot noir and five years of lees ageing. The result is a glorious confluence of lemon, brioche, honey and yellow plums. The palate is creamy and toasty and simultaneously taut and refined, singing with the acid line of this cold site, yet wonderfully harmonious and integrated, with pristine balance and profound persistence. $40 at Discount Wines and Canterbury Wines.
