Dawson & James Pinot Noir

From a single Meadowbank Derwent Valley vineyard planted in 1989, there’s early-drinking appeal in this graceful style of silky and supple tannins. A delightfully lively and fragrant bouquet of lifted rose bud and violet perfume is laced with all the exotic spice, fennel, star anise and sarsaparilla of well-handled whole bunches. The palate carries an elegant and dignified restraint anticipated by its pale hue, laced with lingering red cherries, wild strawberries and raspberries. $44 at Pinot Shop.
