It’s my great pleasure to invite you to join me for my inaugural Grand Cru and Premier Cru Burgundy Dinner at Spicers Clovelly Estate on Saturday 16 August 2025.

This intimate, seven course degustation dinner will be intricately matched with seven Grand Cru and Premier Cru Burgundies from my cellar.

Burgundy is the world’s most fabled wine region, home to the most sought-after and rare chardonnays and pinot noirs on earth, the very finest of which are distinguished as Grand Cru and Premier Cru. Such is their scarcity that I return every year to discover and bring back the highlights, which I will share over this dinner.

Burgundy is the most challenging and complex region to access and to understand. As the author of Down to Earth Burgundy, I will demystify this fabled region as I introduce seven of its finest white and red wines.

Chef Geoff Abel will carefully match my selection with a seven-course menu of classic French dishes from the best and freshest local, sustainable and single origin ingredients from local farmers, fishermen and providores.

There is no more appropriate setting for this intimate dinner on a winter evening than the intimate, softly-lit warmth of the classic French bistro atmosphere of The Long Apron, in the inviting French provincial setting of European-inspired luxury at Spicers Clovelly Estate.

This all-inclusive event includes a stay at this stunning Sunshine Coast hinterland retreat.
