Peter Lehmann Eden Valley Shiraz

This single vineyard on hard soil at the back of Mt McKenzie is on quite a trajectory. In 2009, it was the first in Eden Valley to make Lehmann’s highest classification of Stonewell. In 2013 it made the next tier down of VSV. Here it is in 2012, from 12 year old vines, standing alone for the first time, at a fraction of the price of Stonewell or VSV. And it’s a magnificent sight to behold, wonderfully fragrant, beautifully textured and characteristically Eden Valley. Violets and red cherries meet classic Eden Valley pepper, underlined by grippy, gravelly tannins and vibrant high altitude acidity. A shiraz of great persistence and distinctive appeal. Cellar door only.
