Together with chef de cave Émilien Boutillat, it’s my great pleasure to invite you to the Australian launch of Rare Champagne 2012 at Montrachet Brisbane on Wednesday 11 June and Oncore by Clare Smyth in Sydney on Friday 13 June.
The launch of a new vintage of Rare Champagne lives up to its name, and 2012 represents just the 13th vintage release since 1976! Rare Champagne confidently upholds its place as one of my top ten houses in Champagne today, and every vintage for the past two decades has scored 97 or 98 points.
We will compare the magnificent new 2012 with the fantastic, previously released 2013 and the sublime 2008 en magnum, followed by the exceedingly rare Rosé 2014!
Émilien Boutillat is one of Champagne’s most progressive, energetic and astute young chef de caves, initiating groundbreaking endeavours that have quickly established Rare Champagne and its sister house of Piper-Heidsieck as leaders in sustainability in the region. Émilien is a generous, warm and engaging host, well loved by guests of my Champagne Tours as a highlight of their week.
I am very excited to host my first ever events with Émilien in Australia and I can’t wait to introduce you to my friend and his stunning new Rare Champagne 2012 – one of the finest releases in the five decades of this legendary house!
